No matter why you write (or draw, or whatever you do with blank paper), creation is inevitably a process of collecting small, beautiful things and turning them into something special. Let this journal remind you of that fact.
Magpie journals are each adorned with a small found object, something mundane, ordinary, or forgotten that I found on the sidewalk while walking in my neighborhood. But being small and overlooked does not detract from the value we give. So, being a bit of a magpie myself, I picked each of these items up and carried it around in my pocket for days. It just goes to show– attention creates meaning. Hopefully now, this thing that was once discarded can mean something to you as well.
The object and an associated message are hand-stitched to the book cloth.

This journal is handmade.
The pages (unlined) are hand cut, sewn, and bound. The cover was assembled using recycled materials (linen).
